V&V was the first superhero RPG I played in, but no one in my group really liked it. Champions got some brief love, but TSR's Marvel Superheroes and Advanced Marvel Superheroes were the big hit.

Never heard of it

Whihc in the anime, superheros section makes me wonder.

Villains and Vigilantes was probably the second superhero RPG published. (The first was Superhero'44.) The first edition was published by FGU back in 1979. The Wikipedia article currently looks fairly accurate.
